About the IBP Initiative
The Implementing Best Practices (IBP) Initiative is a uniquely interactive forum that aims to support countries in fulfilling their reproductive health agendas by strengthening international and country co-operation to share experiences aimed at improving the introduction, utilization and scaling-up of evidence-based practices and/or proven effective practices in reproductive health.
Our challenge
The knowledge, experience and technology exist to improve reproductive health. Our challenge is to work collaboratively at the global, regional and country levels to close the knowledge-to-practice gap by supporting improved access to, and the use of, information to improve the introduction, adaptation and scaling-up of practices that will improve reproductive health around the world.
Our response
The partners of the Implementing Best Practices (IBP) Initiative respond to this challenge by working collaboratively to identify approaches and strategies that can facilitate and accelerate the sharing and application of knowledge, experience and lessons learned to implement change and improve reproductive health.
Our goal
To work collaboratively at the global, regional and country levels to:
-
Improve access to high quality reproductive health services, particularly family planning, safe motherhood, adolescent reproductive health, and integrated STI/HIV prevention and care through the effective introduction, utilization, and scaling up of best practices.
-
Harmonize approaches, reduce duplication of effort, and maximize the use of resources to close the knowledge-to-practice gap and support translating evidence into practice.
Our partnership
Over 23 agencies representing donors, providers and technical assistance partners from both developed and developing countries are member of the IBP Consortium and committed to supporting the IBP Initiative.
Coordinated effort is more than the sum of an individual agency and our partnership adds value to the efforts of its member agencies. Together we can reignite political will, enthusiasm and commitment to improve reproductive heath.
